My CV isn´t an “optimized standard one pager”, neither am I.
Lately, I run over a conversation on the web about what a “perfect CV” in 2022 should look like. And templates were offered and advice was given in regard to “Keywords” and a lot of other stuff. Everything was like getting “behind” that AI wall that filters incoming CVs. I´m pretty sure HR people have busy times at the moment. They have a lot of time to invest to search for the best match for an open position, BUT letting a machine filter out applications that don´t “match” certain requirements? That´s too easy. Not too easy but in my point of view a mistake…especially in 2022 and beyond. We live…

Good advertising campaigns never get old.
Days ago the camera brand Leica announced the return of the Leica M6 to the production line, which was a huge news and celebration day for photographers all over the world. For those that are not familiar with the M6, it´s a film camera. A new film camera in the age of megapixels and mega-zooms. What news! The return of the Leica M6 marks something that most photo enthusiasts always dreamed of but do not really like to speak out loud, but there she is in all her beauty. I´ve been part of this “analog Rennessince” since I bought myself my first analog camera 2 years ago, and I can…

New Work = burning down ALL the old bridges?
Year 3 of the pandemic. The “new work” is part of today’s business life. We can sit back home at our kitchen table or in the living room…or for some who have already set up their own office back home, a dream comes finally true. Skip the commuting, more time for yourself more time for the loved ones. Happy “Alice in Wonderland”. For some businesses, this may indeed be the way they should and will go. For as someone working in the creative industry, I see it a little bit differently. Upfront to say: I m no home office type of guy. I can work from home. As a gamer,…

World Cup 2018 – Coca-Cola celebrates Island! Thumbs up for that!
Today marks the end of the journey of the Islands national soccer team. 1:2 vs Croatia means packing the suitcases and enjoy the rest of the World Cup 2018 on screen or at the stadium (I don´t know if they stay until the rest of the tournament). Basically, every child, man, woman, elder all over the world or at least Europe that has some crush on soccer knows the team around the team captain Aron Gunnarsson. And even if you can not remember one name. Their cheer you will remember. Coca-Cola did some remarkable pieces of advertising about this team…and not only about the team, but on the people of…

We need more long copy in advertising … more then ever!
It´s been quite a while, but I remember pretty well. I was heading to the office on a usual morning in London. Subway was crowded (as every morning) and I picked up my edition of the “Metro” at the entrance of the tube about to start what´s going on in the world of stars and gossip…and yes, of course some news (I really love this mix of information in this paper…even today I read it most of the time on my way to work every morning here in Germany…it´s a lovely little habit, but the app can´t beat the printed version.) So while I was waiting for my tube a…

Who is “Der Werberjunge”?
This is my blog, called “Der Werberjunge”. In English it would be translated as “the ad-boy”, but in my point of view, it sounds more “fancy” to stay with the German wording. The name could be working as well as the name of some start-up agency in Berlin. Maybe that´s why I choose it. What is this blog about? If you hadn´t read it so far the title it´s about 3 topics: Who´s behind “Der Werberjunge”? Me. My name is Christian and for more than 15 years I´m now in advertising. I was involved in some pretty large projects and campaigns you might have seen. E.G. “Stop talking, start doing”…

5 Ads by DIY markets you need to see
Over the last few years, so many boring Ads and TV commercials torture and bore the consumer to death. A refreshing exception is (strangely) the DYI markets over here in Germany. Over the last few years, a lot of fresh and creative ideas came from brands in this sector. Let me show you 5 nice examples. 01. Hornbach – Gothic Girl Gothic – Girl by Hornbach is a wonderful piece of storytelling. Small girls… outsiders…bullied by their classmates. But Dad is here for the rescue. Like always for their little (dark) princesses. 02. The Hornbach sledge The Bible says “swords to plowshare” ….something similar had Hornbach in mind, when they…
